Player reportsShoreTiles Save, Crash, and Performance Troubleshooting
- Steam lists Steam Cloud, but the local ShoreTiles save path is not published in the sources reviewed.
- Current reports describe several symptoms; they do not prove one shared cause or fix.
- Use Steam’s general troubleshooting sequence and change one variable between tests.
On this page
Players have reported saving, fatal-error, frame-cap, resolution, and mid-range performance problems, but a ShoreTiles-specific root cause is not confirmed. Preserve evidence first, restart Steam and Windows, verify installed files, update the graphics driver, test with fewer background conflicts, and report the build plus hardware if the symptom returns.
What went wrong?
Start with your symptom. These are general troubleshooting steps, not confirmed ShoreTiles fixes.
My save is missing or Steam Cloud shows a conflict
First: record the message and sync status. Do not delete save folders or select an overwrite option based on a guessed file path.
Expected result: a record of the failure, not a recovered save. If a conflict remains, stop before replacing either copy and consult Steam Cloud guidance.
The game will not launch or crashes
First: capture the error, restart Steam and Windows, then follow the low-risk sequence below. Retest the same action after each step.
Watch out: file verification may replace modified installation files. Do not delete saves as part of this sequence.
Expected result: discover whether the symptom still occurs. If it returns, use the report checklist; no universal fix is confirmed.
Frame rate is low, stutter appears, or GPU load is high
First: record hardware, resolution, run length, and when slowdown begins. Test one change at a time using the performance notes.
Expected result: a comparable before-and-after observation. A result on one computer is not proof of a general fix; do not apply unknown launch flags or demo-era settings blindly.
Before changing files
- Record the visible game version, Windows version, CPU, GPU, driver, resolution, and the last action before failure.
- Screenshot the message and note whether Steam Cloud reports a sync conflict.
- Do not delete folders or disable cloud sync merely because an unverified path appears in a forum post.
Use the lowest-risk sequence
- Restart Windows and Steam, then reproduce once with the same steps.
- Install current Windows and graphics-driver updates.
- In Steam, open Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files.
- Close non-essential overlays or background tools and retest one change at a time.
- Compare the computer with the store requirement: Windows 10, Intel i5, 8 GB RAM, RTX 1080, and 5 GB storage.
Separate high load from late-run slowdown
A current post questions uncapped frame rate and another reports poor speed on a mid-range PC. An older demo thread describes stutter during long runs with many tiles and enemies. These observations may have different causes, and the demo report cannot establish current full-release behavior.
Send a useful report
- Include the build, hardware, driver, display mode, resolution, run length, island size, and night/day state.
- Describe reproduction steps from a fresh launch and whether verification changed anything.
- Use the Steam discussion hub or the developer’s published contact channel; never upload a private save publicly without reviewing its contents.
